Around the World with Mary

We invite you to collaborate with us on social media during this Marian month of May, as we take a virtual tour with Mary. The social media Campaign, "#AroundTheWorldWithMary" on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook aims to capture Marian traditions, devotions and other observances from around the globe. Our hope is that while this would encourage devotion to Mary, it would also foster a sense of Catholic unity beyond borders.

How to participate in three simple steps:

  1. Create a post about one of the topics suggested above, specific to your diocese/country.

  2. Use the coloured bands below to indicate the topic of your post (popular Marian devotions, popular Marian shrines, popular Marian cultures, etc.) at the bottom of your image. Feel free to change colours to suit your post.

1. Popular Marian Devotion (Image Banner)

2. Popular Marian Shrines (Image Banner)

3. Popular Marian Cultures (Image Banner)

  1. Tag #AroundtheWorldwithMary and @ArchBombay in your posts so we can find you and share your posts too.

Note: If you need help creating the post, please share your information with us and we’ll be happy to create it and tag you when we post.

  1. Popular Marian Shrines:

There are various Marian Shrines in and around Mumbai, which attract many faithful devotees, not only on feast days but also throughout the year. The Church of Our Lady Of Fatima, Karjat, is one such shrine. We have attached a sample post, just to give you an idea.

  1. Popular Marian Devotions:

The Marian devotion at St Michael's Church, Mahim, Mumbai attracts thousands of devotees from all faiths, every Wednesday, who come to pray the Novena to Our Lady of Perpetual Succour.

  1. Popular Cultural Traditions and Food associated with Mary:

Food is an integral part of any culture. Different parts of India have adapted and created local delicacies that have become synonymous with Marian Feasts. One such example is Patoleo. Sample post attached.

It would be great if you could also reach out to other Catholic Dioceses and Parishes near you, so that we could all work together towards spreading the love for Mary, on Social Media, this May.

We look forward to your positive response and participation in this initiative.

Yours in Christ,
Archdiocese of Bombay, Catholic Communication Centre
