COMMISSIONER OF POLICE MEETS WITH LEADERS OF CHRISTIAN CHURCHES REGARDING SECURITY MEASURES

At a meeting held at Archbishop’s House, on Saturday, April 27, 2019, between representatives of various Churches in the Christian Community and the Mumbai Police, the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Sanjay Barve, highlighted the need for enhanced security measures, particularly in the wake of recent terrorist attacks on Churches in Sri Lanka.

The ways and means of ensuring the best possible safety measures were enumerated and explained, which also involved the use of technology such as CCTV and scanners. The traditional welcome greeting is also a good way of recognising members of the congregation.

His Eminence, Oswald Cardinal Gracias, Archbishop of Bombay, expressed his gratitude to the Mumbai Police for the professional service they render to the city, and their extremely professional approach in dealing with Law and Order. The Cardinal confirmed that he would share the outcome of this meeting with all the Parishes of the Archdiocese as well as with other Church Leaders.

The meeting was convened by Dr. Abraham Mathai, former Vice Chairman, State Minorities Commission.
