Fr. Gilbert De Lima has been appointed as the new Rector of St. Pius X Major Seminary in Goregaon, with his official start date scheduled for June 1, 2024.
Fr. Gilbert completed his studies in Philosophy and Theology at St. Pius X Seminary and was ordained as a priest on April 16, 1983. He holds a Doctorate in Systematic Theology from the Pontifical Urban University in Rome. His doctoral thesis is titled "The Role of the Local Church and Basic Christian Communities in Advancing the Kingdom of God." With 34 years of teaching experience across various ecclesial universities in India and abroad, Fr. Gilbert brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his new role.
