OFFICIAL - FIFTY YEARS OF PRIESTLY SERVICE

On behalf of the Archdiocese of Bombay, I extend heartfelt congratulations and deep gratitude to our diocesan priests who during this pastoral year reached the significant milestone of the Golden Jubilee of their priestly ordination.

Fr Francis Mendes (14-12-1974); Fr Dawson Ambosta (05-4-1975); Fr Epiphany Castell, Fr Peter D'Mello, Bp Allwyn D'Silva, Fr Denis D'Souza, Fr Anthony A. Fernandes, Fr Louis Pereira (19-4-1974)

Fifty years of priestly service is a remarkable gift to the Church, to the people, and to the Lord. They have faithfully communicated God's love, through preaching, the Sacraments, presence in times of joy and sorrow, daily pastoral care, and social action.

Their life and ministry bear witness that "being a priest is not a job or fulfilling an employment contract, but is a gift from God that should be contemplated and treasured," as Pope Francis had said.

As we thank them for their fidelity, service, and the countless lives they have touched, we pray that the Lord may bless them with peace and strength, and that His light may continue to shine through them.
