St Thérèse of Lisieux

St Thérèse joined the Carmel of Lisieux at the age of 15. She participated in the missions through contemplative prayer, and willingly offered her sufferings to support the vocations and works of missionaries. She believed that because of the prayer and love she made available to the missionaries, they would use their apostolic gifts with greater ease.

The simplicity of her spirituality inspired many. She was proclaimed a Doctor of the Church and the Universal Patroness of the Missions.

Simply by being herself, Thérèse could use even the cloistered monastery for missionary work.
